Description

CORT (Community of Refuge Trust) is a community housing organisation established as a charitable trust to help people who want assistance in finding and maintaining a home.

The trust was established in 1987 by Ponsonby Baptist Church. Over the years the trust has slowly built up its housing stock through purchasing properties and leasing from private landlords. The trust is supported through rental income, grants, philanthropic trusts and the Auckland District Health Board.

CORT's main operations are located within the boundaries of the old Auckland City. The Trust manages over 220 properties, mainly 1 and 2 bedroom flats.
