Who can receive our service?

  • Waitemata DHB residents ( Waitakere and North Shore Cities)
  • People receiving clinical services from the Waitemata DHB Adult and Maternal Mental Services or Primary Care
  • Women from the age 18+

Access
Referral to this service can be made by: LMC's, Maternal Mental Health, WDHB clinical services, GP's or other NGO's.

Description

Dayspring maternal mental health community support service provides professional support for women and their babies/young children who have experienced postnatal depression or anxiety, or are living with an existing mental health issue.

We provide:

  • Support to mothers to build capacity and maintain wellness
  • Assistance in finding the right support networks
  • Connection and Support groups for mothers
  • Strengths-based approach in working with mothers
  • Goal setting and personal plans
  • Ensure most effective care by working alongside health professionals 
  • Life Skill Courses (i.e budgeting, nutrition, cooking, sewing, exercise and mindfulness)
  • Creche for the mothers while they attend Dayspring programmes
  • Advocacy (i.e WINZ, Housing, Corrections, Court, Health related matters)
  • Assistance with access to other services as needed (ie pre-employment training)
