Information and resources (fact sheets) on recognising and understanding depression, including post-natal depression. It’s also the home of The Journal, a self-managed online programme to help you get through depression.

The website http://www.depression.org.nz/home is part of a national public health campaign called the National Depression Initiative and has been created to reduce the impact of depression on the lives of New Zealanders, as well as being a component of the New Zealand Government’s approach to suicide prevention.

The website aims to help New Zealanders recognise and understand depression. It encourages people to seek appropriate help and offers resources for health professionals treating people experiencing depression.

This website is accompanied by a partner site, The Lowdown, which is designed to help young New Zealanders understand and deal with depression.
