We believe that the support that we provide needs to work for those who need it. To help respond to people’s needs we have a number of teams providing mobile support, community support, peer-support, individualised support, referral programmes and running workshops.
Our Community Support Service consists of 3 mobile teams supporting people in their recovery from mental health issues by offering a wide range of practical and empowering services.
Reach Out Peer Support is a mobile service supporting people in their recovery from mental health issues. All the team have their own personal experiences of mental health trauma and recovery.
Mahi Marumaru is a mobile peer service supporting people to recover from alcohol and other drug-related issues. The English translation for Mahi Marumaru is 'many people working together'. All Peer Support Workers have their own lived experience of addiction and personal journey of recovery.
Huarahi Oranga is a mobile service supporting people to grow their kete of knowledge, skills and support as they move towards their vision of wellbeing. Our Navigators work alongside Tangata Whaiora, their Whānau, and their Work and Income Case Managers to build a holistic picture of where they are at, where they want to be and the steps it takes to get there.
Personal Focus provides a variety of skill based programmes that promote life skills, community integration and preparation for employment. Personal Focus services include group activities, individualised support and wrap workshops.
ISS is a vocational service catering for high and complex needs clients with intellectual disability and/or a mental health diagnosis. ISS provides life skills and day service specifically tailored to the individual needs of each client, combining client-centred goals with behavioural interventions.
The Community Support Services are specialist services within Ember and are responsible for engaging and supporting people who face challenges with their mental wellbeing. The aim is that all people can engage in their chosen community and achieve their fullest potential. This includes working with the individual as well as a commitment to work actively in partnership with family/ whānau, Community Mental Health Centres and General Practitioners.
Awhi Ora is a part of our Community Support Services Central, a specialist service within Ember. It is committed to providing support to clients, by helping to find resources in their community that will enable them to live their lives to the fullest. The service is for people who are currently experiencing personal/ practical challenges and are finding it difficult to perform day to day tasks or to reach their desired goals.
The Community Living Service (CLS) is a specialist service within Ember and is responsible for engaging and supporting individuals with a mental illness, who have high and complex needs. The aim is to engage people into their chosen community which will enable them to achieve to their fullest potential.
Our team of mental health and addiction clinicians combines with support workers to engage with primary care professionals and people under their care. We provide support to primary care by liaison, advice and brief intervention in primary care settings. We are a complement to the existing range of specialist community mental health services.
