Description

Family Link staff facilitate an eight week (one evening per week) 'Family Connections' programme for family and whānau who have a loved one experiencing Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). The Family Connections programme is free to participants, is facilitated by trained staff and includes teachings about:

  • Criteria of BPD
  • Dysregulation
  • Basic assumptions
  • Research
  • Important considerations
  • Treatment settings
  • Types of treatment
  • Co-occurring problems
  • Stressors
  • Emotional sensitivity/reactivity
  • Environmental factors
  • Stigma
  • Relationship mindfulness
  • Family environment skills
  • Validation skills
  • Radical Acceptance
  • Problem management skills
