Family Link staff facilitate an eight week (one evening per week) 'Family Connections' programme for family and whanau who have a loved one experiencing Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). The Family Connections programme is free to participants, is facilitated by trained staff, and includes teachings about:

  • Rights of relatives,
  • Criteria of BPD,
  • Dysregulation,
  • Basic assumptions,
  • Research,
  • Important considerations,
  • Treatment settings,
  • Types of treatment,
  • Co-occurring problems,
  • Stressors,
  • Emotional sensitivity/reactivity,
  • Environmental factors,
  • Stigma,
  • Relationship mindfulness,
  • Family environment skills,
  • Validation skills
  • Radical Acceptance
  • Problem management skills.
