Referral Process

Any person over 18 years old can refer to our crisis service.  You can come into our centre or ring us. Your friends, family, GP, the Police, or anyone else can refer you if you give your permission for them to do so.


The Gore Counselling Centre provides a crisis service to support and advocate for victims of sexual abuse.  This service is available free of charge for adults living in Gore and districts – from Lumsden to Tokanui, Tapanui to Clinton and everywhere inbetween.  We offer:

* Crisis and advocacy support with Police and doctors
* Crisis face to face counselling (up to four sessions)
* Social work support during the crisis period including referrals to other social services.
