Referral Process

Referrals should come via your GP, registered health professional, widwife/lead carer or specialist.

Please phone to advise of any pending referral, or to discuss a referral.


The Maternal Mental Health Service provides assessment, treatment, information and a therapeutic intervention to women living in Hawke's Bay who have moderate to severe mental health concerns during pregnancy, or up to 12 months after giving birth.

For urgent mental health assistance after hours, please contact the Emergency Mental Health Service.
