Te Harakeke - Child, Adolescent and Family Service (CAFS) provides assessment and treatment services for children, young people and their families, who have moderate to severe mental health and addiction issues.
CAFS main base is at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital in Hastings, however we provide services from Napier Health, Wairoa Hospital and Central Hawke's Bay Health Centre in Waipukurau.

Among your health professionals will be psychiatrists, nurses, family therapists, psychologists, social workers, counsellors, occupational therapists and a dietitian. A Pou Ārahi (cultural support) is also available if you wish. Please indicate on referral form if you'd like cultural support,

If you are having difficulties with your mental health and/or addictions and are aged 18 years and under, you and your family/whānau may be referred to Te Harakeke, the Child, Adolescent and Family Service (CAFS) for an assessment to find out what is causing the problems and who the best people are to help you with them.

Te Harekeke CAFS requires a referral as point of entry, which can come from families, GPs, schools and other organisations that work with children and families. Young people can also self refer to CAFS.
If your child is experiencing mental health problems, get in touch with CAFS to arrange an appointment.
