Our Te Whare Awhina staff include a Primary Mental Health Co-Ordinator, Health Improvement Practitioner, Health Coach, Social Workers, Community Support Workers, Holistic Therapists and our Community Health & Wellbeing Manager.

Access to this service can come via self-referral, GP or Community Mental Health Nurse referral.


Te Whare Awhina provide health services through early intervention for mental health issues. Services include:

  • Individual, whānau and group support
  • P (Methamphetamine) program
  • Awhi tangata whaiora to restore mana, tapu and noa
  • Guidance for tangata whaiora to achieve independent wellness and healthy living
  • Holistic therapy
  • Work together with individual and whānau to reduce stigma and discrimination
  • Raising mental health awareness in the community
  • Tangata whaiora workshops and social activities
