You are eligible to receive our services if you have the following:
• A psychiatric diagnosis,
• Are referred by a psychiatric clinician,
• Have a current needs assessment,
• And are aged 18 years and over.
This service aims to assist people transitioning from institutional care to a home-based environment.
Te Korimako Established in 1997, Te Korimako is an eight-bed residential whare (home) in Ōtautahi (Christchurch). Te Korimako is a Kaupapa Māori 24-hour residential rehabilitation and respite facility for adults who experience mental illness. Pou Tautoko are trained and supervised mental health support workers. They assist people who have a mental illness to transition from institutional care to a home- based environment. A balance of cultural and clinical approaches are utilised to achieve takata whaiora (client) goals of wellbeing. These goals are to be integrated into their daily living activities.
Te Kotuku This is a residential whare (home) in Murihiku that was established in 2003. Te Kotuku is a Kaupapa Māori 24-hour residential rehabilitation and respite facility for adults who experience mental illness. Te Kotuku has seven beds for residental rehabilitation and 2 beds for respite.
