Description
The Mental Health Education and Resource Centre (MHERC) provides information, a free public library (including e-library), as well as professional development, workplace education and community education about mental health, resilience, wellbeing, mental illness and addictions.

We are open Monday - Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm (excluding public holidays) and can be contacted via phone, email or in person.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not offer clinical services.

Whether you are seeking help for yourself or someone else, MHERC can provide information and resources including: Support: Friendly, knowledgeable staff to assist you in finding appropriate information and services to meet your needs Library: Free public library with books, DVDs and CDs on a wide range of topics. An e-library is also available. Resources: Brochures and fact sheets, including local support services available Canterbury Mental Health Directory: available online here or hard copies can be purchased online or at our office - cost of hard copies is $12.00 plus postage/courier Workplace Education/Training: Contact MHERC staff for further information about current professional development opportunities, as well as options for in-house training to suit your organisation's needs Community Education: Occasionally MHERC delivers community seminars and workshops. These may be subject to funding availability. We recommend that you subscribe to our newsletters to be kept updated about these. Please contact us on 0800 424399 to discuss your organisation's education requirements. Education sessions can be delivered both within Canterbury and in other regions, by arrangement. Along with our collaborative partners we are able to offer free or affordable education workshops in the community. A well-equipped meeting room is also available for hire to eligible community organisations and businesses at affordable rates.

Parking
On street parking is available outside the building on Hazeldean Road (including disability parks). There is also parking available on level 5 of the neighbouring car park building at 14 Hazeldean Road (use Parkable app to pay), or at Wilson's car park opposite our building on Hazeldean Road (use Parkmate app to pay). NOTE: There are several mobility parks available on Hazeldean Road outside the building for people with disabilities.
