The Triage Service provides a single point of entry for non-urgent referrals to adult mental health services.
The service undertakes initial screening and assessment to provide appropriate advice and/or facilitate an assisted referral to the appropriate Northland DHB Mental Health Service or another service provider such as a community based Non-Government Organisations (NGO’s).

Public Holidays: Closed on all public holidays.
There are no fees for services to public patients if you are lawfully in New Zealand and meet one of the eligibility criteria set by the Ministry of Health. If you do not meet the criteria, you will be required to pay for the full cost of any medical treatment you receive during your stay.

All Northland DHB Mental Health and Addiction Services have a multidisciplinary team (MDT) of health professionals who work together with the service user and their family to ensure they receive integrated care to help with their recovery and discharge.
The Northland DHB has kaumātua and kuia available to provide cultural support to patients/service users/tangata whaiora and their whānau, if required.
