Description
Purapura Whetu Trust is a community based kaupapa Māori health and social services provider based in Christchurch.
Our experienced team support whānau to get well, stay well, live well, to reach for the stars and beyond. As a kaupapa Māori provider, we combine clinical, cultural and community support into services that embrace the Māori view of wellbeing. Purapura Whetu is also a member of the Youth Addictions and Mental Health Alliance (YAMHA) and can facilitate entry into these additional services, if relevant.

Referrals should come via Community Support Services Access Pathway (CAP).
However, referrals can also be made by self/individuals/whānau, Canterbury DHB, general practitioners (GP), health professionals, government organisations or non-government organisations.

Purapura Whetu work alongside Te Hā Waitaha “Stop Smoking Canterbury” to promote smokefree whānau. This service is for anybody who is wanting to become Smokefree. Our Stop Smoking Practitioner offers free advice, support and Nicotine Replacement Therapy products (patches, gum and lozenges). We also offer advice on other medications and support. Our Stop Smoking Practitioner is trained to help you to make your quit a success. We offer all kinds of support such as; face-to-face, phone calls, text messaging, and group sessions.

The Tū Pono Connect service works with whānau in Canterbury who are vulnerable, socially isolated and alienated from support networks and have unmet needs with a focus on homelessness, family violence, suicide prevention and bullying.
