Description
Te Whānau Pataka (formerly Rostrevor House) a service arm of Te Awhi Whānau Charitable Trust, is a non-government organisation that serves children, youth and families who are struggling with disruptive behaviour and/or experiencing significant impacts in their life because of moderate or severe mental health.
The Te Whānau Pataka Administrative team is based in Hamilton and provides support for the Hamilton based Whānau Team and the Te Awamutu Southern Waikato Cluster based Team.

The Hamilton based Whānau Team provides services for families of children with difficult behaviours, including diagnosed and undiagnosed Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) and related challenging and disruptive behaviours. Te Whānau Pataka provides social work support for parent/caregivers who are experiencing difficulties managing their child's behaviour. Service includes intake & assessment, whaanau goals with individualised family plan. Whaanau gain skills that will lead to a stronger whaanau.

Our service is here to help infants, children and young people in the Southern Waikato who have moderate to severe mental health and/or addiction issues. The Southern Waikato Cluster provide specialist services, assessment and treatment programmes, support and advocacy and Kaupapa Māori services to infants, children, young people and their families who are experiencing significant impacts in their life due to mental health and/or alcohol or drug addiction. Te Whānau Pataka provides case-management and family/whānau support. Our case-manager works alongside the child / youth and their family, in collaboration with specialist Cluster services, from initial consent/assessment/treatment plan through to discharge. Our family/whānau worker works alongside families providing support, education and advocacy, as required, to support family wellbeing within the clinical treatment plan.

Referral Process
To make a referral, please contact the Te Awamutu ICAMHS team on 0800 154 973 or (07) 871 3671.
Referrals can be made by a variety of people including a GP, school, family or a young person themself.
Referrals are triaged by ICAMHS and then referred to Te Whaanau Pataka, Southern Cluster Social Worker for case management.
