Whilst we work with people from all cultures, genders and religions, Sahaayta’s primary focus remains the safety well-being of South-Asian migrant and refugee families. We provide culturally appropriate counselling for:

  • Individuals
  • Couples  
  • Families
  • Children
  • Youth
  • Elderly

We provide general counselling in Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, Urdu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Fiji-Hindi, Tulu, Arabic, Dutch and English with issues relating to: 

  • Migration and settling in
  • Grief and loss
  • Anger
  • Self Esteem
  • Relationships
  • Conflict resolution
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Domestic Violence and Abuse
  • Trauma 
  • Communication
  • Parenting

We offer periodical seminars, workshops and groups (not court approved) which can also be run on request for groups of at least 6 people at a reasonable fee. Anger Management Programme, Ahimsa Men's Non Violence Programme, Saveraa Self Esteem Group and Parvarish Parenting Programme can be delivered in a group or individual format. In addition we conduct Sahaara women's group monthly. 

We network with and provide information on appropriate community organisations and help with accessing these services (legal services, budgeting, food parcels, specialist services etc).


Our qualified team provides services for anyone who needs it with utmost integrity. Contributions from our clients are essential for us to continue to provide our services. Some charges may apply. We can help you apply for WINZ counselling subsidy if you are eligible. Please discuss possible payment/donation options with your counsellor.
