St John of God Waipuna provides young people, their families/whanau and the community with support and opportunities for development. St John of God Waipuna is also a member of the Youth Addictions and Mental Health Alliance (YAMHA) and can facilitate entry into these additional services, if relevant.

Referral Types

Self referral, GP

Referral Process

We accept referrals from general practitioners (GPs), school counsellors, other social services and self-referrals.

There is often a wait list for initial appointments, you will be advised of approximate time when we receive your referral.

Eating Awareness Team referral form


Our services include talking therapy for young people with alcohol and drug issues and/or mental health issues. We also provide an eating awareness service.

Young people can access these services either as a one-off session, or as short or long term support.

Mon – Fri 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Public Holidays: Closed on all public holidays.
