Description

Te Hā - Waitaha Smokefree Support offers free face-to-face support for all people in Canterbury who want to be smokefree.

Our Quit Coaches are based in several services across Canterbury. These include He Waka Tapu (Wainoni), Te Puawaitanga (Hornby), Purapura Whetu (central city), Tangata Atumotu Trust (Central city), Waitaha Primary Health (Rural) and Community and Public Health (central city).

Quit Coaches are mobile and are able to work with a lot of people in many different settings - clinics, work places, at home.

The journey will include:

  • discussing the different stop smoking methods available to you (including access to free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) - patches, gum and lozenges)
  • creating an individualised plan
  • supports working towards your first smokefree day
  • identifying the triggers that keep us smoking and working out strategies to beating them
  • supports with understanding how to use different stop smoking products to managing the recovery symptoms and reducing the urges.

A team of passionate and trained specialist practitioners in smokefree are ready to work with and support you.

We understand that everyone’s journey to becoming smokefree is different.
