Pregnancy Incentive Programme

This programme is for women who are identified as pregnant and are smoking. The programme is to support these women to a smoke-free journey for themselves and their baby. A pregnant woman is a pregnant whaanau. We want to support the whole family. National and international research confirms pregnancy incentives programmes result in significant reductions in smoking prevalence in pregnant women. The Programme: The initial meeting will involve a discussion about the programme and the need. At this session the woman will receive her first incentive voucher. She will receive all information relevant to going smokefree as per the Te Hā -Waitaha Smokefree Programme. There are three milestones in the Pregnancy Incentive Programme. Each milestone reached, with a smokefree CO validation, the woman will receive another incentive voucher, plus she will be offered Quickmist. We will continue to work with the woman as necessary up until baby is 6 weeks old. For more information visit our website https://www.tehawaitaha.nz/ Te Hā -Waitaha Smokefree Support also distribute peepi pods (safe sleep devices) along with the safe sleep discussion to our clients who are pregnant or have a newborn.
