Description

Planned Adult Respite is staffed 24 hours a day by kaimahi with mental health qualifications and New Zealand registered social workers.  The facility is run from a  6-bedroom whare in Te AtatÅ« South and features multiple living areas and quiet spaces where Tangata Whaiora can convalesce minus the stressors of their day-to-day lives. Kaimahi ensure that all needs of Tangata Whaiora are met whilst they are in our short term care.  This is particularly useful to Tangata Whaiora who are experiencing mental distress but who are more likely to recover once in a stable, safe environment. Respite care is accessed via referral from Home-Based Treatment or Crisis Teams attached to WDHB.
