Description

Dayspring provides mental health support, counselling, and programmes for mothers of children up to five years of age.

Dayspring is a registered charitable trust.  As a community organisation we provide services that support and positively influence the pathways for women and their families/whānau. The wellbeing of the mother means families can flourish and grow and ultimately affects the health of the communities we live in. Circle of Security Parenting Programme

Circle of Security - Parenting programme is designed to help parents/caregivers to strengthen their relationship with their child(ren). This is an 8-week programme (during school terms) that runs for 2 hours each week and covers topics such as: understanding your child's emotional world, supporting your child's ability to manage emotions, enhancing the development of child's self-esteem, and honouring the desire for all children to feel secure.

Referral Process

The Circle of Security Parenting Programme is suitable for parents who may be interested in understanding and improving their relationship with their children or may be struggling with managing challenging behaviours.

Access
Access can be self/whānau referral or via Community mental health teams, Maternal Mental Health Team, Oranga Tamariki, Plunket and community organisations.
Caregivers must have children in their care or have regular weekly visitation to be able to participate in the programme. The child should be able to crawl or walk, so is best for parents with children 6-9 months and older.
