Mahitahi Trust is a Kaupapa Māori mental health and addictions provider commited to supporting individuals and whānau on their path to wellbeing through the delivery of integrated, Tikanga-based services. We weave together a kete of culturally grounded supports to help people achieve wellness.
Our mission reflects the core purpose of Mahitahi Trust: to empower people in their journey toward restored wellbeing through a connected range of services—health, social, educational, employment, and housing—guided by ngā Tikanga Māori (Māori cultural beliefs and practices). Our values, Ngā Pou E Waru, are central to how we operate as a Kaupapa Māori provider and how we uphold our vision and mission.

- receive supports that will enable them to live full and active lives within the community
- enhance their ability to complete activities of daily living that increase wellbeing
- achieve their goals in terms of work and of friendship and family connections

Through a blend of wellbeing, vocational and community programmes, ākonga enhance their independence, confidence, and social connections with the help of our Growth Coaches. Underpinned by our Eight Pou Manaakitanga, Wairuatanga, Whanaungatanga, Mātauranga, Kaitiakitanga, Mahi Ngatahi, Te Ahi Kaa Roa, Rangatiratanga our papamahi/programmes assist tangata to strengthen their sense of identity, knowledge and understanding of their culture so they can actively participate in and contribute to their community. Through a blend of wellbeing, vocational and community programmes, ākonga enhance their independence, confidence, and social connections with the help of our Growth Coaches.
Underpinned by our Eight Pou Manaakitanga, Wairuatanga, Whanaungatanga, Mātauranga, Kaitiakitanga, Mahi Ngatahi, Te Ahi Kaa Roa, Rangatiratanga our papamahi/programmes assist tangata to strengthen their sense of identity, knowledge and understanding of their culture so they can actively participate in and contribute to their community.
