Description

Purapura Whetu Trust is a community based kaupapa Māori health and social services provider based in Christchurch.

Our experienced team support whānau to get well, stay well, live well, to reach for the stars and beyond. As a kaupapa Māori provider, we combine clinical, cultural and community support into services that embrace the Māori view of wellbeing. Please see our Mental Health & Addictions Services below or see the Purapura Whetu website for information about our full range of services. Purapura Whetu is also a member of the Youth Addictions and Mental Health Alliance (YAMHA) and can facilitate entry into these additional services, if relevant.

Te Oriori

Te Oriori is a kaupapa Māori, whānau-centred service for parents/caregivers of tamariki aged 0-12 years. Te Oriori offers different group programmes Monday - Friday at our site located in Phillipstown (41 Essex Street). Description

Te Oriori is a kaupapa Māori, whānau-centred service for parents/caregivers of tamariki aged 0-12 years. Te Oriori offers different group programmes Monday - Friday at our site located  in Phillipstown (41 Essex Street).

Our team provides culturally appropriate, multilingual support for families in the Muslim community who have been affected by the March 15th tragedy. We provide a confidential and non-judgmental service focused on the individual needs of each client. Our team empower people in their daily lives, advocate for their needs and are able connect them with relevant agencies if required. Our mobile team will provide support to the Muslim community in the Canterbury area in their home and/or the community. We understand that each situation is unique, so we tailor the support to suit you. Pūmotomoto was developed in response to the large body of research and knowledge that highlights the first 2000 days of life (conception to 5 years) as the most critical for early brain development. Our service provides wrap around support for whānau, to allow them to care for and nurture pēpi to the best of their ability. Pēpi are taonga and deserve the opportunity to prosper.
