Te Ara Mahi (TeAM) is a specialist mental health employment agency funded by Te Whatu Ora. TeAM works in communities to help people find work with the right employer across all industries and supports them to form lasting relationships.

TeAM creatively supports people to achieve their employment, education, and training goals, with a focus on overall wellbeing and recovery.

We provide specialised, in-depth employment support to meet the needs of jobseekers and employers across the top of the South Island, working in all industries.

We work with a wide range of people who have lived mental health experience and connect them with supportive employers and agencies.
Where to find us
TeAM is located throughout Nelson, Tasman, Marlborough and the West Coast, with offices in each area.
Entry to the service is by referral from your mental health or addiction practitioner.
Staff
Te Ara Mahi staff come from a range of backgrounds and life experiences. We understand the needs of people with barriers to employment who are looking for meaningful employment or training.
All Te Ara Mahi staff have a commitment to providing support that is professional, respectful, friendly and down to earth. We work one-on-one with people to identify their employment goals and develop a plan to reach those goals.

Te Ara Mahi will be closed Thursday 25th Dec 2025 to Friday 2nd Jan 2026 inclusive. Offices will re-open again on Monday 5th Jan 2026.
