Mental Health Support

Turanga Health has a team of Mental Health Kaiāwhina providing practical and social support for people in the community with mental health problems. Clients that have been referred from Community Mental Health and NASC are provided with wraparound services within the organisation and also assistance in external referrals to community support. Mental health kaimahi are able to assist with shopping, accessing housing, ensuring Work and Income benefits are up to date, help getting to medical appointments, and where possible sorting out options for employment or tertiary training. Mental health kaimahi visit whānau in their home and also help tangata whaiora with exercise and nutrition.

Quit Smoking

Turanga Health’s Smoking Cessation programme is a kanohi ki te kanohi (face-to-face) service to support whanāu through their quit smoking journey. Alongside the weekly visits with Turanga Health’s quit coaches, they can also offer whanāu stop smoking medicines or NRT products including nicotine patches, gum and lozenges. Turanga Health offers incentives for those who are smokefree at the end of their Smoking Cessation programme.
