Description

Te Piringa Āhuru Peer Support Hub is a welcoming community space where people can pause, feel safe, and connect during challenging times related to mental health or addiction. It offers peer-led support grounded in lived experience, connection, and shared understanding.

Located next to Woolworths at Hunters Plaza in Papatoetoe, the hub is open 10am to 8pm, seven days a week (except public holidays and when the mall is closed). No referral or appointment is needed — people are welcome to walk in.

Support is provided by trained Peer Support Workers who bring lived experience and professional peer training. They listen, walk alongside, and support people and whānau to build on strengths and consider what feels helpful next.

Te Piringa Āhuru is operated by Ember Korowai Takitini and powered by DRIVE Consumer Direction Counties Manukau.

Staff

All kaimahi at Te Piringa Āhuru are trained Peer Support Workers with lived experience of mental health challenges and/or addiction. They bring both formal peer support training and personal understanding to their roles.

Because they have walked their own journeys, they offer support grounded in empathy, respect, and shared understanding - walking alongside people rather than directing or diagnosing.
