How to book your free appointment:

  • Download the Tend app and create an account

  • Tap the purple banner on the home screen that says “Book a free mental wellness video consult now”

  • Choose a time, date, and clinician

  • Your clinician will video call you through the Tend app at your appointment time

  • After your consult, you’ll receive a personalised action plan in the app to use straight away

Tend's online doctors are available 24/7, standard consultation fees apply.

Staff

You’ll video chat with an experienced mental health clinician. You can select who you’d like to speak to during the booking process in the app. Just choose someone you feel connected to.

Our mental health professionals include mental health nurses, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, alcohol and drug counsellors, and health improvement practitioners.

Consult hours with our Health Improvement Practitioners are 8am - 8pm, Monday to Friday.
We are open during the holiday period, only closed on public holidays. 

Public Holidays: Closed Waitangi Day (6 Feb), Good Friday (3 Apr), Easter Sunday (5 Apr), Easter Monday (6 Apr), ANZAC Day (observed) (27 Apr), King's Birthday (1 Jun), Matariki (10 Jul), Labour Day (26 Oct).

You do not need to be enrolled with Tend and do not need a GP referral. Everyone over 16 years nationwide can use this free service. 

You just need a phone, with wi-fi connection. Make sure you take the video-call in a safe quiet space.
