Accounts Receivable Office - Hospital Fees/Charges

The Accounts Receivable Office is the department that handles and manages the hospital charges for people who are not eligible for publicly funded health services.

New Zealand citizens or those who have obtained permanent residence are entitled to publicly funded healthcare.

If you were not born in New Zealand or born after 1st January 2006 and have not previously shown evidence of residency you should bring your passport and all visa pages for verification on your first visit to the hospital.

If you believe you may not be eligible for free healthcare and do not hold current health insurance, please note that the cost of an emergency care visit is $437.90 plus the cost of any additional tests. If you need to be admitted to hospital, charges for ward stays are approximately $800.00 per day plus the costs of any treatments.

Location: The Accounts Receivable Office is located on the ground floor of the Building 7 corridor between Sir Edmund Hillary Block and Ko Awatea.

Opening Hours: 9.00am - 4.00pm (Monday to Friday)
