Profile

Brandon is a consultant Otorhinolaryngologist (ENT) who has been in private practice since 2001, with a particular interest in nasal and endoscopic sinus surgery, the management of benign head and neck conditions and the management of swallowing disorders. He carries out adenoid and tonsil surgery, childhood middle ear problems and eardrum surgery as part of his general ENT practice. He also works at the Bay of Plenty District Health Board, where he has been practising since 1999.

Brandon gained his undergraduate degree at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, completing his MBChB in 1985. After travel and work experience, he began his surgical training specialising in Otolaryngology, gaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1998.

He then completed a Fellowship year in Glasgow, Scotland, with extensive further training in functional and cosmetic nasal surgery and in endoscopic sinus surgery.

Currently undertaking advanced training to deal with frontal sinus surgery problems, Brandon also has an interest in facial plastic surgery, including face and neck lifts, otoplasty, blepharoplasty and fat transfer.

Brandon carries out the following procedures as part of his surgical practice: adenoid and tonsil surgery; ventilation tubes (grommets); endoscopic sinus surgery; dacryocystorhinostomy; functional and cosmetic septorhinoplasty; myringoplasty; parotid surgery; neck mass surgery; and surgery for swallowing disorders.

He is still a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and a member of organisations relating to his interests in Otolaryngology: the New Zealand Society of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery; the Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery; and the Australasian Rhinologic Society.
