Trained at Otago, he has two fellowships: FRCS Ed, FRACS (Urology). He is a full member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ), a member of the European Urological Association (EAU) and the Urogynaecological Society of Australasia (UGSA). He has practiced in Palmerston North for over 20yrs. He also works in Urology at PNH, where he is presently HoD

John is interested in all aspects of Adult and Paediatric Urology including Hypospadias surgery and surgery for imperfect testicular descent.

Also Prostate Cancer diagnosis, ESWL and Endourological stone surgery; Laser Prostate surgery (HoLEP), Flexible Cystoscopy, Urodynamics, Female Urology, Urological Oncology, Incontinence surgery, Slings, Stricture and fistula; Vasectomy and reversal.
