Profile

Nick graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Otago in 2006. For the first two years of his practicing career, he worked full time for the Southland District Health Board (now the Southern DHB) as a Dental House Officer. He has been working at Tooth Works for the past eight years, and splits his time between there and the Southern DHB, where he is now employed as a Senior Dental Officer. Through his work in both the public sector and in private practice, Nick has gained a wide range of experience in restorative dentistry (fillings), prosthodontics (crowns, bridges & restoring implants), endodontics (root canals) and extractions. With a number of teachers in his family, he is committed to being a life-long learner, and regularly attends conferences and seminars to keep up with the current best clinical practice. His aim is to be an excellent general dentist for provincial and rural New Zealand (big cities aren't his thing, but he thinks that Invercargill is just the right size!). Nick is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association (NZDA), and is currently the President of the Southland Branch of the NZDA. He is also a member of the New Zealand Society of Forensic Odontology. He is originally from Greymouth (on the West Coast of the South Island) where most of his family still lives. He is married to Sarah, and has a 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son. When not at work or being a husband and father, Nick spends far too much of his time on his iPhone and with his other Apple products.
