HIV PEP is used to prevent HIV infection in individuals who have had a potential high risk exposure. PEP must be started within 72 hours of the exposure, the earlier the better.

The following pharmacies always have the drugs commonly used for PEP in stock (tenofovir disoproxil, emtricitabine, dolutegravir). A prescription is required.

If you have been prescribed tenofovir disoproxil and emtricitabine only, please also see ‘HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)’ for pharmacies which keep these drugs in stock.

If you have been prescribed other medications, please contact the pharmacy to check they have the drugs in stock.
