Taranaki DHB provides pharmacy services to inpatients at Taranaki Base and Hāwera Hospitals.
Services offered by Taranaki DHB's Hospital Pharmacy Department include:
- Clinical Ward Pharmacy - medicines reconciliation, medicine therapy assessment, promoting quality, safe, cost effective therapy to ensure the best outcomes for the patient and the organisation
- Extended hours ED serivce
- Maintenance of clinical treatment guidelines
- Medicine utilisation information
- Pharmaceutical supply - provision of all inpatient medication
- Non-sterile manufacturing
- Clinical check of chemotherapy/MAB charts
- Chemotherapy/MAB supply
- Patient counselling and yellow medication cards, on request
The Hospital Pharmacy is not able to do outpatient dispensing.
