Description
We are a locally owned, patient orientated community pharmacy - come in and meet our friendly, knowledgeable staff, all are long time local community members, we support local. Compare our value, service and advice - we attempt to exceed all expectations.
We are determined to add value; we supply full patient leaflets free with all new medicines, we supply all patients who use our Robotic Adherence Packing Service with up-to-date laminated medicine charts showing all medicines with coloured photographs, strengths, dosages, indications and dose times etc. If known, we can add your allergies and medicine intolerances. We can even display your photograph for further safety.
Do not spend precious time waiting for your prescription to be filled after your consultation - ask your prescriber to electronically forward your prescription and we will endeavour to have it ready as soon as you arrive. We are able to accept prescriptions from any practice anywhere in New Zealand (it is your right to nominate your preferred pharmacy) by GP phone call 09 238 6789, e-mail garyloganpharmacy@pharmacy2020.co.nz or direct EDI to "logan89g".
If you or a family member have any symptoms that include fever, cough, sneezing, wheeze or have been in contact with anyone who has any one of these symptoms please ring us from outside.... Please Do Not Enter the Pharmacy.
Covid-19, Colds and Influenza and TeleHealth - We are able to provide services and products remotely by phone consultation or via a TeleHealth consultation using a Zoom conference call if you prefer- we can deliver, courier or hand over medicines remotely in our car park.
Anti-Viral Treatment. We are able to dispense doctors' prescriptions for the currently funded Covid-19 Antiviral medications - (includes) Paxlovid.
If you have tested positive for Covid-19 one of our qualified pharmacists may also be able to dispense without delay the same funded Paxlovid (subject to qualifying criteria and conditions).
Our pharmacy is extremely proud to have provided quality pharmaceutical services to Pukekohe, all Franklin and the Northern Waikato regions for over 130 years. We will not compromise your health for a return to any overseas owners.
We can provide you with compliance packaging and medication charts and you may wish to register with us as your selected pharmacy "MASS" Medicines Adherence Support Service (Long Term Care) and "MUR" (Medicines Use Reviews) provider; both services are funded by Health NZ.
Our pharmacy utilises the latest technology and provides a computer assisted robotic compliance medication pack dispensing system.
1Chart is a cloud based system that gives community pharmacists, general practitioners and aged-care professionals real time access to their patients' medication information. And it's done securely with both a high level of data encryption and privacy protection. 1Chart could also be used for home care patients, Long Term Care (LTC) patients and individuals.
Alpaca Robotic Compliance Medication Dispensing enables us to provide compliance packaging more quickly; Alpaca packs are easier to read and help make medicines home management much easier.
Pharmacists can help to support the health of your family; they can provide advice and treatment for common minor illnesses for all ages.
Our pharmacy staff are experienced and able to advise on many health and social issues - we have vast knowledge of the publicly available health services and can put you in touch with appropriate providers. All advice and treatment is conducted in a professional and confidential manner and most pharmacy services are provided free of charge and do not generally require an appointment.
Pharmacists ensure that prescriptions are dispensed correctly and that the medicine and doses are appropriate so that you receive the maximum benefits from your medicines. Your pharmacist will help you understand what your medicines are prescribed for, how to take them, possible side effects, and how to store them.
For safe disposal, please return any expired or unwanted medicines, or needles/lancets and syringes to your pharmacy. There is no charge for this service.
Please don't hesitate to contact us directly in person or by phone if you have any questions.

Fees and Charges Description
We do not charge the $5.00 Prescription Tax- it is an unnecessary barrier to health access and defies our world-leading FREE Pharmaceutical benefits scheme for which we are still heavily taxed.
For subsidised Prescription items charges only apply for prescriptions from Private Specialists, Dentists and Optometrists.
Non-subsidised items and prescriptions for ineligible people and veterinary prescriptions for animals are priced accordingly.
The first Labour Government under Michael Joseph Savage and Peter Fraser introduced Pharmaceutical Benefits under which prescriptions were FREE. The Lange Labour Government introduced a Prescription Charge in 1985 thereafter various governments both National and Labour have tinkered with Prescription Charges to restrict access to health - this false economy affects the whole country. We see more costly wastage of expensive medicines and dispensing data for various health groups is distorted by medicines supplied directly by GPs in remote areas to avoid fees.
We believe our pharmacy offers extremely good value for our modest charges on unsubsidised medicines.

This service is designed for people with long-term illnesses who may need support with their medicines. An assessment is used to identify the things that affect their ability to take medication as prescribed. Pharmacists work together with the patient to address each issue. The pharmacist is able to assist you with managing your medications and can coordinate your medications so that your prescription repeats happen all at the same time and therefore require only one trip to have your prescriptions refilled. They can also provide you with a reminder service (via text message, email or phone call) to let you know when your next supply of medications is ready for collection. If you are having difficulties managing your medicines (e.g. forgetting to take them), please ask your pharmacist whether this service is right for you.
