Expert Consultation

In an initial consultation, people referred to Re-centre (and their carers, with consent) meet one of our specialist psychiatrists for an expert assessment and advice. The psychiatrist engages the person in a relationship of trust and confidentiality, exploring their understanding of the referral and their personal expectations.

The initial consultation with your psychiatrist may continue over several engagements while considering therapy choices and medical treatment options. These may include medication, psychotherapy and lifestyle guidance in personal health and relationships.

From this point, a collaborative care plan can be developed. Re-centre psychiatrists offer regular review appointments to inform and monitor progress and lead a person’s care among their Re-centre colleagues.
