Columba at Ascot - Early Miscarriage Service
Private Service Maternity
Today
8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Description
Midwives and GPs refer women to Columba who have a confirmed miscarriage or non viable pregnancy on ultrasound scan. Patients may also self refer with current ultrasound and blood results showing non viable pregnancy.
Our service provides timely consultation with a specialist obstetrican/ gynaecologist. Surgical management is arranged if required for women who have had a missed miscarriage under 12 weeks gestation, and are in need of a D&C (dilatation and curettage), also known as an evacuation of retained products of conception (EVAC).
Columba at Ascot staff organise a mutually agreeable time, a consultant gynaecologist, and an anaesthetist to perform this procedure. This can usually be organised within 24 to 48 hours. Most medical insurance companies cover this procedure.
We do not perform terminations of pregnancy.
