Rather than surgery to cut troublesome xanthelasma out, which runs the risk of troublesome scarring; I use a strong skin peel to gradually remove the xanthelasma plaques.  Most xanthelasma are removed with between 1-3 treatments - each treatment being repeated every 6 weeks.
