At Face Breast & Body we understand the needs of women and men to achieve their desired facial, breast and body appearance.

Specialist plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgeons Chris Porter and Sally Langley are Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and have significant international experience that allows them to provide comprehensive and individualised care using a wide range of surgical and non-surgical techniques.

Melanoma & Skin Cancer
We provide comprehensive management of melanoma and skin cancers, such as sentinel lymph node biopsy and lymph node dissections, as well as treatment of benign or cosmetic skin lesions. We have the ability to treat the majority of referred skin lesions in our rooms theatre, more significant lesions are managed as inpatients under general anaesthesia.

We offer scar advice or revisions either causal from injury or post surgical.

Hand Surgery
Elective hand surgery is a common part of our practice. Often minor conditions can be operated on under local anaesthetic at the rooms, such as:

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Trigger digits
  • Digital mucous cysts
  • Small ganglions
More significant hand problems can require day surgery general anaesthesia, such as:
  • Dupuytren's disease
  • Wrist ganglions
  • Cubital tunnel syndrome
  • Tendon repair, reconstructions or transfers
  • ACC related hand injuries requiring repair or reconstruction

Facial Cosmetic Surgery
Facial cosmetic surgery can alter appearances that are inherited or caused by aging or trauma. Our surgeons have a spectrum of techniques and procedures to manage each patient's individual characteristics and desires.

We prescribe the exciting doctor-only skin care range Aspect Dr for treatment of all skin types, from teenagers to aging skin with sun damage.

Facial procedures provided include:

Breast Surgery - Reconstructive & Cosmetic
Women can achieve their desired breast shape and size through breast augmentation, reduction or lifting procedures.
Breast augmentation (enlargement) is performed using implants sourced only from the world's leading manufacturers. Breast enlargement can also be performed by fat transfer, through a combination of liposuction and fat grafting.
Female breast reduction and breast lift (mastopexy) surgery are performed using techniques that maximise shape and minimise scarring.
Men who develop unwanted breast shape (gynaecomastia) can also have their chest size reduced with male specific breast reduction surgery.
Breast reconstruction following mastectomy is a major part of our practice. We are associated with Canterbury Breastcare where we provide a comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach to breast cancer from initial diagnosis, formulating a treatment plan, and completion of oncological surgery with patient specific reconstruction using the full spectrum of contemporary reconstructive techniques. This successful patient centred approach has led us to become the major provider of private breast reconstructive procedures in the South Island.
We are major providers of breast surgery for gender reassignment and receive patients from throughout New Zealand. We provide a gender friendly approach with an experienced nursing, office and surgical team.  Female-to-male top options are double mastectomy or peri-areolar surgery. For male-to-female top surgery breast augmentation is offered. We also offer facial feminisation surgey for MTF. We do not offer bottom surgery for MTF or FTM.

Breast procedures provided include:

Body, Arm & Thigh Enhancement

Pregnancy, weight gain and loss can leave the tummy, arms, buttocks and legs with loose skin that is stretched and scarred. Both men and women can have regions of excess skin and fat that are resistant to exercise and diet. Typically  surgery removes the excess skin and sometimes liposuction is also used to address resistant areas of fat. Your areas of concern can then be targeted to contour your body to your desired shape.

Body contouring procedures provided include:

Referral Expectations

During your initial consultation your plastic surgeon will assess your presenting problem, general health and suitability for surgery. You will then have the opportunity to discuss the best type of surgery or non-surgical procedure for you. If surgery is arranged then you will be given instructions about your anaesthetic, medications to avoid before surgery, post-operative discomfort and pain relief medication, expected outcomes, potential complications, typical recovery and limitations from normal activities to promote healing.
For most skin cancer referrals the surgical excision can be performed at the initial consultation under local anaesthetic in our office procedure room. On some occasions if the surgical procedure needs more preparation then the surgery will be planned for a later date as it may require admission to hospital for general anaesthesia.

Christopher and Sally are Southern Cross Affiliated Providers in the following service categories:

  • Blepharoplasty (eyelid reduction)
