Profile

Andrew is originally from Wales and has been in New Zealand since 2006.

He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, a member of The Australasian Sleep Association, The Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and The Internal Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand.

As well as working in Bowen Hospital Andrew is a Consultant Respiratory and Sleep Physician working in Wellington and Hutt Hospitals. He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Wellington School of Medicine, University of Otago, teaching students and junior doctors. He is also involved with WellSleep; the sleep investigation centre run by the University of Otago.

Andrew lives in Wellington with his wife and two small children. He is a keen rugby fan having grown up in the Welsh Valleys and is a keen walker and an enthusiastic (but inept) snowboarder.

 

Specialist Training: 

Andrew trained in Cardiff where he obtained a degree in psychology as well as his medical degree. He came to New Zealand having worked in several hospitals in South Wales. Having completed a broad training in General and Respiratory Medicine in Waikato Hospital he came to Wellington to complete his specialist training in Sleep Medicine.

  • Sleep Medicine and he sees a broad variety of respiratory
  • Non-respiratory sleep disorders
  • Respiratory conditions
