Profile

Dr Byron Oram is a highly experienced clinician with more than 20 years in practice and is the Managing Radiologist for Pacific Radiology Canterbury. Based in Christchurch, he previously spent five years as Managing Partner at Pacific Radiology Australia before returning to Canterbury.

Byron completed his medical studies at Otago University, followed by radiology training in Christchurch and a fellowship in MRI with Christchurch Radiology Group in 2007. Since then, he has developed expertise across a wide range of subspecialties.

He has a particular interest in radiology‑guided procedures for pain relief and is among the few radiologists in New Zealand who provide imaging‑guided radiofrequency and chemical ablation for nerve pain. Byron is passionate about improving the patient experience and delivering excellence in radiology for both patients and referrers.
