Profile

Dr Claire Brenman is a specialist gynaecologist working in public and private practice in the Bay of Plenty. Claire has a special interest in Urogynaecology, in particular, the management of incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. She also has expertise in management of general gynaecological issues.

Originally from North Yorkshire, Claire graduated from Nottingham University before starting her Obstetrics and Gynaecology speciality training in the UK. A move to New Zealand saw her working at Middlemore and Tauranga Hospitals, with her final year of training with the Urogynaecology team at Waikato DHB. As a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Tauranga Hospital, Claire also now enjoys an active role in teaching.

Claire likes to form a partnership with her patients, providing them with the information they need to make well-informed decisions on their own health journey. She understands the effect that poor pelvic floor health can have on psycho-social well-being, and Claire loves seeing the improvements to a patient’s quality of life through the work she does with them.
