Profile

Dr Rachael McEwing has over 20 years’ experience in radiology and has been part of our team since 2012. A strong advocate for quality and equity in obstetric ultrasound, Rachael chaired the New Zealand Obstetric Ultrasound Guidelines group, leading the publication of the national guideline in 2019 and its update in 2024.

Rachael served as Managing Radiologist for Pacific Radiology Canterbury from 2022 to the end of 2025, gaining extensive leadership and strategic planning experience over four years. Rachael is now Chief Radiologist for RHCNZ, where she drives clinical excellence and innovation across the network (Auckland Radiology, Bay Radiology, Pacific Radiology).

In addition to her clinical work, Rachael has significant governance experience, having served on the Boards of Pacific Radiology and Reflect Ultrasound. She is also a member of the Institute of Directors New Zealand.
