A general cardiologist, Stuart has particular interests in the prevention of cardiovascular disease, cardiac imaging and the management of coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, arrhythmias and congestive heart failure.

After graduating from the University of Otago School of Medicine in 1997, he completed his specialist cardiology training at Dunedin Hospital in 2007. He has been a consultant cardiologist at Tauranga since his appointment in 2008.

He has taken part, as principal and sub-investigator of the site, in international clinical trials of dyslipidaemia and diabetes treatment in patients following myocardial infarction. He is a committee member of Tauranga Hospital Resuscitation Committee. 

Stuart is dedicated to providing the best quality of care for his patients with evidence-based medicine. He will always give his patients advice on the best management and treatment option of their cardiovascular disease.
