Dr Uyen Hoang is a general adult psychiatrist who values a person-centered, collaborative, and holistic approach to care.
She has 10+ years of clinical experience divided between the United States and New Zealand. Being of Vietnamese American descent with roots in multiple countries and communities, she highly regards multicultural aspects of the individual in shaping how they view themselves, others, and their environment. She moved to NZ in 2015 and considers Aotearoa home. She is bilingual in English and Vietnamese.
Dr Hoang completed her medical and psychiatric training in the United States and remains registered with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the Medical Board of California. She has been practising in Aotearoa since 2015 at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand - Te Toka Tumai - Auckland (formerly the Auckland District Health Board) and has full vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Dr. Hoang maintains continual professional development through the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and the American Psychiatric Association.
