David is a fellowship trained hip and knee surgeon whose scope of practice is: 

Joint Replacement Surgery
Hip Replacement
Conventional and Robotic Assisted Total Knee Replacement

Sports Knee Surgery
Arthroscopic (Keyhole) Surgery
Meniscus Repair
Patella (Kneecap) Stabilisation 

And of Particular Interest
Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Reconstruction 

David works in collaboration with sport and exercise medicine physicians and physiotherapists. For the early assessment of knee injuries, he has acute clinics and weekly visits to either Sports Doctors or Motus Health in Merivale and Rolleston.

Education & Training

David graduated from the University of Otago Medical School in 2000. He received his specialist qualification in Orthopaedic Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association in 2009.

David is an active member of multiple organisations including the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS).

Graduated as a 2nd Lieutenant from the Officer Cadet School into the Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment

Awarded to the outstanding Officer Cadet who best displayed the qualities of leadership, initiative, integrity, motivation, academic ability and physical fitness; and who is assessed as having the greatest potential as a Territorial Force Army Officer.
