Mr Ricky Kwok is a Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon based in Dunedin. A specialist in the minimally invasive management of vascular disease — with a particular interest in venous conditions including varicose veins — Ricky completed his medical training at the University of Auckland before undertaking postgraduate surgical training across leading public and private hospital networks in Australia and New Zealand, building a comprehensive and contemporary skill set across the full breadth of vascular surgery.

Ricky holds a public appointment at Dunedin Public Hospital as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon, in addition to his work in private practice. Across all settings, he prioritises highly individualised treatment — delivering precise medical and surgical solutions tailored to the unique lifestyle, needs, and circumstances of each patient. He is guided by a simple conviction: the right treatment is the one that fits the person, not just the diagnosis.

His commitment to the field extends well beyond clinical practice. Ricky has published peer-reviewed research and presented at conferences across Australasia and Asia, including as an invited speaker. A former Clinical Examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons' Clinical Examinations, he remains an active surgical trainer committed to the development of the next generation of surgeons.

Outside of his clinical work, Ricky's interests reflect the qualities central to his practice: the patience and precision demanded by bonsai cultivation, the discipline of a lifelong classical violinist and guitarist, and the teamwork and community of social badminton.
