Profile

I'm a glaucoma and cataract surgeon in Wellington, New Zealand, with research and clinical interests in imaging, surgical techniques, angle closure glaucoma, and ocular biomechanics. As of October 2012, I have published more than 70 articles, with 55 in peer-reviewed journals and more than 10 textbook chapters including two in the current leading glaucoma textbook.

I also run a glaucoma fellowship which has provided 8 (to 2012) internationally qualified eye doctors with advanced training in the management of glaucoma, cataract, and related conditions.

I have been a senior Instructor in a top-5% ranked annual eye surgery course at the prestigious American Academy of Ophthalmology, and in 2002 founded the Capital Vision Research Trust which has supported internationally recognised research and education projects.

Interests

I have sub-specialised in glaucoma and cataract surgery since late 1999, including three years advanced fellowship training at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.

My practice is now completely based around cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, and ocular imaging.
