Urethroplasty

Scarring in the urethra, usually from trauma or infection, causes a constriction, which can obstruct the flow of urine from the bladder. Urethroplasty is a procedure which restores a normal calibre to the urethra. The scarred segment can either be completely excised, or reconstructed with a skin graft.
