Kidz First Community Paediatric Dietitians

The Kidz First Community Paediatric Dietetic service is a community based team of dietitians providing a service to the children living in the Counties Manukau District Health Board region. We are based at Kidz First Community Health in Manukau and work alongside the Kidz First Community Home Care Nurses and the Kidz First Child Development teams.
Who We See 
The dietitians provide advice and education for a variety of medical conditions including:
•tube feeding
•dietary fortification for poor growth
•the use of disease specific formulas
•food allergy
•swallowing difficulties requiring modified textured food and fluids
•obesity in infants under one year of age and children aged 5 - 18 years with certain medical conditions.
Who We Do Not See
This service does not see children who:
•have reflux but are growing appropriately
•are fussy or picky eaters, have autism or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) but are growing appropriately
•have iron deficiency
•have constipation
•have coeliac disease, unless they are referred to us by a CMDHB Paediatrician.
Where Do We See You?
If you are referred to the Community Paediatric Dietitian you may be seen in your home or in a clinic setting at Manukau SuperClinic™, Botany SuperClinic™ or Pukekohe Hospital. Where you are seen is determined by your child’s age, dietary issue and your residential address.
