***Due to the current increased demands on health services due to COVID-19, the Outpatient Physiotherapy service is closed to all non-urgent appointments at this time and is not able to offer any face-to-face appointments until further notice. Where required, telephone or other telehealth options will be offered to patients who have been triaged as urgent by our physiotherapy team. ***
Self or, with the patient's permission:
- hospital staff
- specialists, and
- other health professionals.
- Adults whose continence issue has the potential to improve with physiotherapy intervention.
- Patients already under the care of the District Nursing Service continence nurse specialist may be transferred to the Pelvic Health Clinic in consultation with the continence nurse specialist.
- Obstetric patients are not eligible for this service. The Maternity Service will see patients in the antenatal period and up to 6 weeks postnatally. If further treatment is required after this time a referral will be made to Physiotherapy Outpatients for musculoskeletal issues or to the Pelvic Health Clinic for strengthening pelvic muscles.
