Hepatitis B and C

Hepatitis B and C are viruses that cause long-term damage to the liver. Most children with Hepatitis B and C are very well and don't have any particular signs or symptoms of the virus. Usually the virus is transmitted from mother to baby. It is important for us to see and monitor your child regularly to make sure their liver is staying healthy and that no complications are developing. Children usually have blood tests and a scan every year. Often treatment for the virus can occur when your child is older.
